Since my teaching focus is exclusively European, I do not know if I will ever find myself in a position to do more than deliver individual lectures on manga history. Nevertheless, I have the teaching bug, and have developed this syllabus for a course on Gender in the History of Manga and Anime. I am always interested in sharing and discussing ideas for teaching manga history, and I hope others will find this syllabus a useful tool for thinking about the structure and readings one might use in outlining such a course:
